The National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, organised by Kapitol Promotions Ltd. is the country’s principal national brass band competition, bringing together leading ensembles from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and forming the bedrock of competitive banding in Great Britain.
About the Event
The National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain is the country’s leading brass band competition, bringing together the very best ensembles from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Often referred to as “The Nationals”, the Championships represent the highest level of competitive brass band performance in Great Britain. Bands qualify through regional contests held earlier in the year, with only the top performers progressing to the National Finals.
The Championship Section Final, held at the Royal Albert Hall, is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the brass band calendar and has been staged at the venue since 1945.
The Venue
The Royal Albert Hall is one of the world’s most iconic concert venues, located in South Kensington, London. Since opening in 1871, it has hosted leading artists from across the globe and remains one of the most prestigious stages in international music.
With a capacity of over 5,000, the Hall provides a unique and historic setting for the National Finals.
Derwent Brass
Derwent Brass will make its first-ever appearance at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall, following qualification from the Midland Regional Championships earlier this year.
This represents a major milestone in the band’s development and an exciting opportunity to perform on one of the most prestigious stages in the brass band world.
