Spring Charity Concert Success

Derwent Brass Charity Concert brings in the brass for Buxton Mountain Rescue!

A concert performed by Derwent Brass has raised a considerable sum for the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.  The band performed a mixed programme at the Landau Forte Theatre, Derby with something for everyone, including traditional marches, film music, Big Band Beatles numbers and music from the musicals, including a wonderful rendition of 'On My Own' from 'Les Miserables' by Adrian Drewitt on Solo Baritone.

Other highlights were a sublime solo performance of 'Hejre Kati' by the band’s Principal Cornet player Dave Neville and a cool interpretation of 'I Only Have Eyes for You' by Andy Devereux on Bass Trombone.

A spokesman for the concert said: "Derwent Brass always give an excellent performance but Saturday’s concert is one of the best we’ve ever attended, thanks for a wonderful evening - it's nice to know that Derwent Brass sent many people home very happy!"

Later on in the concert, a cheque was presented to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (Derbyshire branch) for £600, who were the recipients of a previous charity concert undertaken by Derwent Brass in November last year.
