Baum Heads for Derwent

Derwent Brass are delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Baum as their new Solo Trombone player.

Simon was formerly the Solo Trombone with Leicestershire based Foresters Brass and more recently the Hathern Band as a full-time member, as well as regularly appearing with various Midlands based bands including the GUS Band and of course Derwent Brass.

“Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to make several appearances with Derwent Brass. I’m now very much looking forward to playing with this terrific group of players on a regular basis.”  (Simon Baum)

Music Director Jack Capstaff commented: “I am delighted that we’ve secured a player of Simon’s capability to the Solo Trombone seat in the band. Simon has made a real impression with us on various occasions, most recently of course being at our sell-out show in Derby Theatre. He’s not only a highly talented player, but also a committed and reliable bands person, and it’s that high level of continuity around the band which will support our drive for further development.”
